Linux Cluster: the openMosix approach
openMosix is a very interesting approach for Linux cluster technology.
It adds clustering abilities to the Linux kernel that allow any standard
Linux process to be transparently "migrated" to another node where it
can be executed faster. This transparency means that no special
programming is required to take advantage of the openMosix's load
balancing technology. This makes openMosix a clustering solution that
provide an immediate benefit for a wide variety of applications not only
in the field of High Performance Computing.
Several Italian institutions have already tested and implemented this
technology with positive results.
Aim of this workshop is to present the openMosix approach to everybody
interested in cluster technology and to collect significant experiences
among openMosix users.
